ACCIDENTAL RED 411

Accidental Red sets themselves apart from other bands in their versatility and ability to adapt to your specific taste, budget, volume, and space limitations. From a piano/flute duo or a trio, to the full band, we will help make your event feel timeless with an extensive repertoire in multiple genres, all with a jazz flair. Studio grade PA and audio processing equipment deliver the highest quality sound available.
Our aim is to not be just another band or play the standard repetoire like some bands do. We wish to explore interesting arrangements of known and in some cases rarely heard gems. Each of our members is a skilled musician with many years of training and expertise.

We are happy to fulfill any specific song request for your special event. We can also accompany your guests in performing a prepared piece. Accidental Red specializes in adding a personal touch, customizing each performance to best fit the mood.
Kathy Farmer - Vocalist
Kathy has been singing forever in various styles of music, from classical to choral music to theater to jazz. She can be heard singing jazz in the greater Washington DC area as a solo performer, as a member of the singing trio, YazooZazz performing with the Tom Cunningham Orchestra, and as half of a singing duo, Pardon Our French. She is also a long-time singer with the Master Singers of Virginia a cappella choral ensemble and serves as a choir director and cantor at her church.

Karin Slawinski - Alto Sax and Flute
Karin’s influences, including Cannonball Adderley and Joshua Redman, can be heard in her buttery tone. Karin and her husband, AR keyboardist Zenon Slawinski, entertain at weddings and special occasions, and they also play in their church worship band, a contemporary rock and ballad group.

Zenon Slawinski - Keyboards
Zenon has been playing music ever since he was a young lad growing up in Michigan. At the University of Michigan, he studied Music Theory and Composition, graduating with honors. He covers a wide variety of styles from Jazz to Classical and Pop. With Accidental Red he is focused on Jazz Standards and adapting music from select popular hits, past and present. He and his wife, Karin, the flute/sax member of the band play as a duo for special events.
